Meet our local English guide who will take you on an explorative journey through the oldest medina in Morocco, Fes dates back to the 9th century. You’ll explore the narrow winding cobblestone streets of the medina, where donkeys are the main mode of transportation. Your tour will include historical sites of the medina, including the University of Al Karaouine, the oldest university in the world started in 851, the Moulay Idriss mausoleum, the Nejjarine fountains, the famous tanneries, as well as the King’s Palace, the Jewish quarter where, if you like, you can visit a synagogue in the mellah. The tour continue to the colorful souks/Markets where you will enjoy the colors and the smells of the species and enjoy a traditional lunch in a local terrace.

After breakfast, we will begin the guided tour of the medina, one of the largest walled cities in the world. Founded in 790 AD; a medieval city from which will make you situated between the Middle Ages and today. We will explore the narrow streets full of shops with fresh fruit, piles of spices, Berber carpets and many other objects of Moroccan art. We will visit the Royal Palace, the potters and tanners and then the oldest university in the world, before (including Oxford or the Sorbonne). Then we will have lunch at a typical restaurant in the center of the medina. After lunch we will complete the visit to the medina and return to your hotel / Riad.
